Welcome to The Alameda Motel

The Alameda Motel, a charming vintage motor court established in 1941, brings a blend of classic appeal and modern comfort to San Jose’s lodging scene. Nestled at 1050 Alameda, it offers a convenient base for travelers exploring the city’s vibrant core, including proximity to Diridon Station, the SAP Center, and downtown attractions.

Guests consistently praise the motel’s clean and thoughtfully updated rooms. Each space features amenities that cater to essential needs without unnecessary frills: a king-sized bed with nightstands and lamps, a newly renovated bathroom, a microwave, mini-fridge, and a large flat-screen TV. The motel’s emphasis on practicality is complemented by free Wi-Fi and parking, ensuring a hassle-free stay for visitors.

The ambiance strikes a harmonious balance between nostalgic charm and functional simplicity. The tidy and secure environment underscores a commitment to guest comfort and safety, with courteous staff enhancing the positive atmosphere. However, it’s worth noting that the absence of a coffee machine and on-site dining or fitness facilities marks a limit in conveniences, which may deter some travelers seeking a more comprehensive hotel experience.

What resonates most about The Alameda Motel is its spirit as a no-nonsense, well-maintained stopover for those prioritizing location and straightforward accommodation. The walkable neighborhood and accessible layout extend the motel’s appeal to families and solo travelers alike, making it a practical choice for sightseeing and city exploration.

Overall, The Alameda Motel impresses as a clean, secure, and welcoming option with a 3.5-star charm that respects the past while delivering modern essentials. It is ideal for guests who value simplicity, convenience, and a touch of vintage character during their stay in San Jose.

Clean, Secure, exactly what you need for a night. The room was large enough to comfortably move about the furniture. The bathrooms were newly renovated. The room had MW, Small Fridge, Large screen TV, dresser, desk, lamps, king bed w/nightstands and lamps. Just what you need. Only down side was no coffee machine. Otherwise Excellent. The Desk-man was polite and courteous

The Alameda Motel is a nice vintage motor court type motel built in 1941. The rooms are updated and clean. The beds are pretty comfortable, the water is hot and the A/C is cold! A mini-fridge, microwave and flat screen TV are in each room. We like the easy walkability of the neighborhood. This location is near the Diridon station and SAP center and not far from downtown. The layout of the grounds allows privacy and quiet, even though it is on The Alameda which is a very busy street. The motel has employees walking the property regularly and high fences in the back. At no time have I felt uncomfortable outside or inside. We’ve stayed in other properties owned by the same family and experienced their thoughtful hospitality in the past. My task trained service dog has never been an issue. The Alameda Motel is our favorite budget priced place to stay in San Jose. I’ve added two photos: one taken in the 1960’s and one i took in June, 2015.
